Starting College???

September 15, 2010

Congrats on surviving the leaving cert and getting into college. Now the important work starts. First thing to do, after finding the nearest watering hole, is to head to the freshers tent and join your college YFG branch.

We have branches in UCD, TCD, DCU, DIT, GCD and St Pats. If there is no YFG branch in your college and you would like to help setting one up don’t hesitate to contact the Exec or any member of the DRC.

Dublin Day 2010

September 1, 2010

The Annual Dublin Day weekend will be held this year on the 10th and 11th September right across Dublin’s City Centre.  Kicking off the weekend in true style we will be heading to The Mansion House for a social reception being hosted by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Cllr Gerry Breen.  After that we will head to the famous “Gingerman” on Fenian Street, a pub well known by many an Oireachtas Member.

Saturday kicks off at a reasonable hour for a Policy Session in Buswells Hotel on the First Draft of the DRC’s Vision for Dublin Policy Document. After a break for lunch we have the main session of the Day, a round table discussion with guest speakers chaired by Gay Mitchell MEP on where they see Dublin’s future will be. Saturday Night will be a true YFG night out, heading to 4 Dame Lane, a new venue for YFG, for what we’re sure will be a great night and a great way to end this year’s Dublin Day.

St. Pat’s YFG Speed Dating Fundraiser

February 1, 2010

The St. Pat’s branch of Young Fine Gael will be hosting a Speed Dating event on Thursday February 11th at 7:30pm in Room B103 on the Drumcondra campus.

All proceeds will go to aid agencies operating in the stricken Caribbean republic, Haiti, for relief of the recent disaster.

It promises to be ”a wonderful and romantic experience” with a night out in the Cat and Cage pub in Drumcondra afterwards, so hopefully we’ll be seeing as many YFGers there as possible!

For further information please contact Susie O Connor (susie@finegael.com).
